WAGE$ (Beaufort and Hyde Counties):
Providing salary bonuses to child care workers based on their level of education and length of employment at a center.  Contact Child Care Services Association at 919-967-3272

Read Me A Book (Beaufort County):
Distributing developmentally appropriate theme boxes to child care centers and homes and providing quality story times for their children.  Quarterly workshops will be offered.  Contact BHM Library at 946-6401

More At Four (Beaufort County only):
Pre-kindergarten classes for at risk children  entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2008. Contact the Beaufort/Hyde Partnership for Children at 975-4667, ext. 2

Child Care Resource & Referral (Beaufort and Hyde Co.):
Providing information, education and referrals to families and child care providers in Beaufort and Hyde County. "Welcome Baby" bags with important parental information and children's board books are provided to all new mothers, referral packets for parents requesting child care information, Home Supplies boxes for all children entering kindergarten, a Lending Library which includes BCCC textbooks, Scrap Exchange, laminator and many Ellison dyes, a weekly play group for stay-at-home moms, dads and grandmoms, professional development for teachers, extensive Creative Curriculum training, technical assistance for child care facilities and a quarterly newsletter for both child care providers and parents are available upon request. Through Beaufort County Community College, Information Highway Access for child care teachers furthering their education and laptops are also available.  Contact Child Connections at 975-4647 or 926-5611, ext. 1

Parents As Teachers (Beaufort and Hyde Counties only):
A nationally trained Parent Educator provides personal visits where age appropriate child development and parenting information is shared, as well as activities and screenings to parents.  Contact Child Connections at 975-4667 or 926-5611, ext. 6

Child Care Subsidy (Beaufort County only):
Providing families with financial assistance in paying for child care. Contact the Beaufort County Department of Social Services at 975-5500

Nurturing Program (Beaufort County):  Providing parenting skills education sessions for any Beaufort or Hyde Co. parent with a child under 6. Sessions will comprise a series of 10 weekly classes based on the Nurturing Parenting Program curriculum. Contact Child Connections at 975-4647, ext. 6

Child Care Health Consultant (Beaufort and Hyde Counties):
A public health nurse who  provides health screenings and preventive health education for children ages 0-5 in child care centers and homes. Contact the  Beaufort County Health Department at 946-1902 or the Hyde County Health Department at 926-4200

Preschool Coordinator (Beaufort County only):
Identification, referral and transitioning of children ages three to five with suspected atypical development—suspected delays, learning difficulties and/or inappropriate social/emotional behaviors who may qualify for services. Contact the Beaufort County Schools at 946-6593

Subsidy Enhancements (Hyde County only):
Providing incentives to child care providers to maintain their quality based on their star level and number of subsidized children. Contact Hyde County Department of Social Services at 926-4199
