Why is the Trust holding the events in Beaufort County?
The Trust is a statewide private foundation focused on improving the quality of life and quality of health for individuals across North Carolina. Last year, we announced
Healthy Places NC, a long-term initiative to improve the health and overall quality of life for people in rural areas of North Carolina, and
Beaufort County is one of the first three counties we have invitated to participate. We plan to invest $100 million over 10 years in 10 to 15 rural North Carolina counties. As part of our Healthy Places NC work, we are partnering with experts from the
County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a national program, to explore and understand Beautfort County’s health ranking.
How can you get involved?
We want to work with community members for the long-term to understand local challenges, improve the overall health of the area and promote active living and healthy eating. Come to the forum to learn more and share your ideas.
